Tara is course director for a number of online post graduate courses which are undertaken by medical professionals. She has been awarded a number of prizes both locally and nationally in recognition of her contributions to innovating and inspiring teaching, namely the distinguished teaching fellowship award and a National Teaching Fellowship by the Higher Education Academy.

Tara has experience in a wide range of teaching and learning support methods including; lectures, tutorials, seminars, peer assessment, case studies, distance/on-line learning, chat rooms on-line, discussion themes on-line, research project design, laboratory practical classes and preparation of dissertations. She is committed to her continuing professional growth and development as demonstrated by courses attended.
She has undertaken a substantial role in teaching and learning and administration since commencement of her lectureship. She is a reflective practitioner passionate about her subject area and she strives to implement pedagogically informed innovative methods of teaching. She notes improvements in her teaching as evidenced by increased participation and retention, excellent student evaluations and very rewarding peer observation comments. Excellence in Teaching - Evidence Based highlights some very positive student feedback obtained during module evaluation and questionnaire results demonstrating how 100% of students described my teaching as ‘outstanding’.
